So much in this world will try to tempt our kids NOT to believe God. They’ll be tempted to doubt His power, His love, His faithfulness, His wisdom, and everything in between.
Statistics show that over 61% of kids are leaving the faith when they move away from home! 61%! That’s astounding! And sobering. Those statistics make me want to buckle down and make sure I’m super purposeful with the short time I get to have them under my roof.
I want them to leave home with the confident expectation that God is who He says He is and that He can be fully trusted. I want them to face life with the assurance that, come what may, they can stand firm on Him.
So what can we as parents do to help our kids have faith that lasts (besides of course pray until our knees are worn)?
We can teach them how to spend time with God through His Word!
Think about it. How do we determine if something is true or not? We hold it up to the Word! How do we determine if something reflects God or not? We compare it to what He has already told us about Himself!
The secret weapon that keeps our faith strong each day is the same thing our kids need! We need time in the Word. We need to learn how to have a devotional time with God.
Let’s be honest. You and I know this truth. We’ve experienced God’s power in our daily lives as we stand on the truth of God’s Word. But knowing it and teaching it to our kids are two different things.
Unless kids learn how to spend their OWN quality time in God’s Word, they will fail to develop a personal relationship with God. This personal relationship is what they NEED in order to navigate the ups and downs of life. Our faith won’t just transfer over to them.
The Kids Devotional Method Course is your starting point to teaching your kids how to have their own time in His Word. It gives you a game plan for helping your kids develop this vital habit.
