Life’s difficult. Circumstances can be unexpected, relationships challenging, and things change. But God calls us to be thankful—even when we don’t feel like it. He gives us the strength to be content in ALL things.
So we’ve planned a challenge to encourage us all.
It’s time for a little CONTENTMENT.
We’ve created an incredible challenge to help your kiddos understand what contentment is and how they can choose it. Doing this will help lay a foundation of GRATITUDE for your kids!
WHAT TO EXPECT:
I will give your kids a brief teaching (from the Bible), outline a specific area where we might struggle with contentment, strategies for choosing to be content, AND I will give them a challenge “homework” task to implement into their daily lives.
WHAT YOU CAN DO TO GET READY:
- Talk to your kids about what they can expect and get them EXCITED about the challenge. If you have teens, this step is incredibly important. Perhaps say something like, “I know you’ve had a difficult time recently with not being able to hang out with friends or go to church (maybe even work). It’s a struggle having all of this taken away when it’s not your fault. This week let’s focus on some strategies for contentment no matter what happens in life.”
- Set an alarm on your phone to do the challenge each day. Even with great intentions for my day, often if I don’t set an alarm, I won’t remember to do even the best things. That’s why setting an alarm is super helpful. Even better, have your older kids set an alarm to help them remind you each day to do the challenge together.
